STREETER'S COPY OF A RARE NEBRASKA TERRITORY BROADSIDE (NEBRASKA.) To the People of Nebraska. Fellow Citizens:--The General Assembly of Nebraska Territory are no longer able to discharge their legitimate functions at the Omaha seat of Government. Signed in print by Speaker of the House James H. Decker and 31 members of the House of Representatives and the Council. - Notes: "In the fight over the location of the permanent capitol of Nebraska, a majority of the Territorial Legislature left the temporary capitol at Omaha and set themselves up in Florence, where they stayed for forty days. This was a protest against the actions of the minority who favored Omaha as the location for a permanent capitol"--Graff 2960; Streeter Sale IV:2010 [this copy]. No copy of this broadside has come to auction since the Streeter copy; OCLC locates only the Graff copy.
