Beautifully illustrated. 8vo, bound by Barrie in mauve morocco with gilt lettering and floral devices in spine compartments, most spines evenly faded to a soft plum-brown, elaborate inner doublures with watercolored portraits of the Queens surrounded by decorative gilt stamping and colored morocco inlays at front, crests and insignia at rear, watered silk endpapers, all edges gilt; custom mauve cloth slipcases edged in leather, some fading and soiling to cloth.   • Notes: copy four of only seven sets of the alexandra edition. lavishly illustrated with plates in four states: one on Japan vellum, one on India paper, one on papier de Chine, and one on Holland handmade paper, finished in watercolors. For each of the seven Alexandra sets, a separate suite of prints on satin was created, though one does not accompany this set.
