Tschaikovsky," in French, to dramatic agent Edmund Gerson ("Sir!"), stating that he departs for America from Le Havre making it impossible to accept his offer, thanking him for the offer, and in a postscript, hoping for a meeting in New York. 1 page, 8vo; inlaid, horizontal fold, minor chip at upper edge.     In 1891, Tchaikovsky traveled to New York to inaugurate the opening of Carnegie Hall, where he conducted his Coronation March on opening night, May 5, 1891.
