  • Notes:
    This beautiful photograph of the Moon was taken by the automatic Fairchild metric camera mounted on the SIM bay of the Command Module and operated by Ken Mattingly. The camera's 3-inch lens centered on craters Hertz and Moiseev (latitude / longitude: 13.5° N / 103.5° E). The label reads: "Lunar Photograph of Moiseev, Hertz Area Taken During Post transEarth Injection on Apollo 16 Mission April, 1972. Lunar Mapping Camera Was Developed by Fairchild For NASA Apollo Missions 15, 16, and 17."
