THE JINX (FAKE). Bound volume containing an original copy of the fake Jinx, the New Phoenix reproduction of the fake, and a copy of the only issue
THE JINX (FAKE). Bound volume containing an original copy of the fake Jinx, the New Phoenix reproduction of the fake, and a copy of the only issue of The Linx; bookplate of F. William Kuethe, Jr.. Vp, vd
- Notes: The "fake" Jinx was published as a spoof, but it outraged Ted Annemann who was editing the "real McCoy." Most copies were turned over to him and he destroyed them. Very few of the original fakes remain. The copy included here has an inked note at the top, "Gene Gordon's Original Copy" [Gordon was the editor of Linking Ring magazine]. A cover sheet bound at the front of the volume says that this was the copy used for the New Phoenix reproduction. However, a note by Kuethe on the cover sheet states that Jay Marshall claimed that his copy was used in the reproduction. The Linx was edited by Burling Hull and appeared in only a single issue (1936).
