  • Notes: Advertising poster for a performance of Nathaniel Bannister's unusual play commemorating the Revolutionary War heroism of Israel Putnam. The play featured dramatic equestrian scenes, and George Washington appeared as a supporting character. Illustrated with two woodcuts of Putnam upon his steed, and including a full cast list and detailed plot synopsis, concluding: "A Grand Battle Scene! Charge between the British and Americans. Americans Triumphant. Grand Tableau." At the bottom, a preview of a forthcoming staging of Uncle Tom's Cabin on horseback, featuring the same lead actor and the same horse.
