THORN Chevalier Ernest (Moses Abraham THORN 1853-1928). Photographic half-length portrait in cabinet card format, on a mount marked "Reutlinger, Paris"; Signed by Thorn beneath the image and additionally Inscribed and Signed by Thorn on the verso, "To mine esteemed Old Friend Le Comandeur[sic] Cazeneuve. Ernest Thorn 2 0/9/09." With Thorn's collection sticker mounted on recto in lower left corner. 1909.
- Notes: Le Commandeur Cazeneuve (Bernard Marius CAZENEUVE 1839-1913) was a leading French magician in the second half of the 19th century. His autobiography, "A la cour de Madagascar: Magie et diplomatie," appeared in 1896.
