She starts this letter by telling him he sounded pretty good when they spoke, though she knows he has a lot of problems. Questions why his family is not helping more. 7 October. 7 pages on 7 sheets. She begins by explaining how her letters are so neat and straight; she uses home-made guide rules under each sheet as she writes. Expresses confidence in him after their phone conversation. She is still worried, but knows that he's handling it. Tells him about a big week at her sister's school, homecoming with bonfires, etc. She made a paper chain [which she drawsa small picture of] to decorate a car for "Decorate Your Car Day." Writes that her dad has been busy working on strike negotiations. Proudly tells him that she is trying to borrow a tape recorder from the music department at school so she can record a song for him.
