THURSTON Howard (1869-1936). Two Important Typed Letters Signed, one to Albert Wilson and the other to Jean Caroly, speaking at length of the illness of Valadon and requesting that the gentlmen print his letter in their journals in order to take up a subscription to aid Valadon. 3 pages, 4to; on Thurston letterhead. Chicago, 05 and 11 1912.
- Notes: Thurston writes to two magazine editors, Dr. Albert Wilson (1854-1930) who edited "The Sphinx" and Jean Caroly who edited and published "L''Illusioniste." Paul VALADON (Adolph WABER 1867-1913) was a noted magician who performed solo, as well as with Harry Kellar and for Maskelyne & Cooke. He died of tuberculosis in April 1913, the year after Thurston wrote these appeals.
