Large color promotional map issued by The Underpinning and Foundation Co. for its special customers, 355x1260 mm sight size; in the original black wood frame. E200/300 Unusual map of Manhattan issued as a promotional piece. The map shows how Manhattan appeared in 1783 with scattered marshes and swamps. Landfill areas are overlaid to show the growth of the island needed to facilitate the construction of docks. This map is very rarely seen and remains in wonderful condition sinceit has been housed continuously in its original frame.
