The Woodlanders. 16 plates by unknown hand. 3 volumes. 8vo, Arts and Crafts style green morocco with red calf flower quadrant in each corner of front covers, connected by gilt borders, and flower quintet in 4 spine compartments, lettering in 2, top edges gilt, by cedric chivers, spines mildly darkened, otherwise fine; custom cloth slipcase. - Notes: first edition in book form. with 16 beautiful water-color plates illustrating scenes in the works. Although not signed, the works are by a very talented hand and are painstakingly executed. Each is inlaid to size on bound-in sheets and hand-titled in margin. A hand-written list of the plates and additional decorative title are bound into the front of volume 1. A truly charming and unique set.
