USED IN THE HOUDINI FILM

(HOUDINI, HARRY.) Large two-part handcuff board, consisting of 24 cuffs or restraining devices purported to be from the personal effects of Harry Houdini, and said to have been purchased by Joseph Dunninger and later resold. The cuffs are said to have been mounted into the present case either by Dunninger or Paramount Studios. This board was used in the 1952 Paramount film Houdini starring Tony Curtis and Vivien Leigh. Dunninger was a paid consultant for the film. There is a widely published photograph of Curtis and Dunninger standing in front of this board at Paramount Studios. The case when opened measures 4 1/ 2x5 feet. Formerly in the collection of the Houdini Magical Hall of Fame. Np, nd
