  • Notes: ". . . [T]he President [Jackson] has authorized me to offer you the appointment of one of the Commissioners under the Treaty with Denmark. The Treaty limits the duration of the Commission to two years. . . . The Commissioners will probably meet here for a few months in the year until the business is completed. . . ."
