VINCENT LYNCH "AMMUNITION" AND REMEMBER -- BONDS BUY BULLETS! 1918.
29 3/4x19 3/4 inches. Ketterlinus, Philadelphia.
Condition B+: minor restored losses in top right corner; repaired tears and tape stain in margins, some affecting text.
An extraordinary appeal that was echoed by Norman Rockwell in the Second World War, of a machine gunner reaching back for ammunition. Almost no information exists about the Ketterlinus Lithographic Manufacturing Company but their output was prodigious and the quality of their lithography was exceptional, as can be seen in this example which offers incomparably rich and deep inking. Borkan p. 90.
