Woodcut on thin cream Japan paper, 1971. 243x140 mm; 13 1/8x9 inches, wide (full ?) margins. Artist''s proof, one of only a few known impressions. Signed "Vincent", titled and inscribed "AP" in pencil, lower margin. A very good, dark impression of this scarce print.
Provenance: Ex-collection the artist.
Smith was born in New York in 1929, and in the 1950s he studied at the Art Students League, the Brooklyn Museum Art School and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His work is in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum, the Newark Museum, Newark.
