- Notes: first series of this major art magazine. XXe Siècle featured contemporary art, as well as decorative arts and design. It devoted each issue to a specific theme, and was known for its interviews with leading artists of the day as well as excellent reviews of exhibitions and publications. This first series is extremely difficult to find complete. It features the desirable number 3 with woodcut plates by Kandinsky and the Christmas issue, number 4, with linoleum cuts and lithographs by Matisse, de Chirico, Miró, Arp, and others. Arntzen Q341.
