Autograph Letter Signed to a Judge Round, discussing the issues facing the Senate over the course of 8 pages, including the deficit, banking legislation, and "unsettled differences with Spain . . . no part of the Union will be more exposed than Virginia." Washington, 19 December 1819 * Alexander Mebane. Autograph Letter Signed to father James: "The Whigs put up a huge log cabin in Richmond last week 90 x 50 where they hold political meetings almost every night." "Hill Side" but postmarked Richmond, VA, 15 July circa 1840 * L.A. Williams. Autograph Letter Signed to Reuben T. Thornton: "There has been great excitement amongst the servants. It is the general impression that if Harrison is elected that he will set them free. . . . We have been broken up by the sheriff, the last servant has been sold."
