Unique album with 16 wonderful "en plein air" studies of nude and semi-nude Sicilian boys posing singlly in a variety of marvelous settings: atop a leopard skin, draped in togas, and "dressed" Roman-style in sandals and garlands in their hair. The album itself features unique transfer images of Von Gloeden's photographs on the front and rear covers. Albumen, sepia-tone silver, and bromide prints, 81/2x61/4 inches (21.5x15.8 cm.). Folio, leather, with transfer sepia-toned photographs set amidst hand-colored and gilted floral motif. Circa 1900
