    Further information:
This scene was assigned to the great Fred Moore and meant to appear near the end of the film after the song "When I See An Elephant Fly," but was cut from the film for unknown reasons. The shot was clearly meant to follow the close-up scene of Timothy with feather in hand around the 1 hr 12 sec mark, and as evidenced by this drawing had gotten to the final cleanup animation phase. The lost scene is described in the animators' drafts as an 'Extreme Close Up' with Timothy on Dumbo's trunk, who kisses the feather and tells the young elephant "Dumbo! I knew you could do it! Now our troubles are over! Ho-ho!"

Fred Moore was considered one of Disney's top animation talents. In his short career, he made many major creative contributions to the studio, including the modern redesign of Mickey Mouse.
