Notes: A late 19th century manuscript note on the front free endpaper identifies the book as being from the library of George Washington: "W. Hunter, the bookseller who disposed of a portion of the library, put Washington's bookplate into each of the volumes. On the other side of this leaf is the bookplate which this volume contained before it was rebound." The bookplate, however, is a forgery.
