WEIMER PURSELL (1906-1974) CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR. 1933.
41 1/2x28 inches. Neely Printing Co.
Condition B+: minor restoration along vertical and horizontal folds.
Pursell designed several posters for the 1933 World's Fair. In these images he took an architectural approach which was of excellent quality, choosing to use flat colors with no outlining. His solution to place little views of the Fair along the bottom of the image (no doubt in keeping with the Fair organizer's intentions) is cleverly handled and leaves the primary image unpolluted. All of these being qualities not often found in American posters of that era.
