(WEST VIRGINIA.) Andrews, G.H. Junction of Potomac and Shenandoha, Harpers Ferry.

(WEST VIRGINIA.) Andrews, G.H. Junction of Potomac and Shenandoha, Harpers Ferry. Uncompleted pencil and wash drawing, 7 x 10 inches; a bit of soiling, mount remnants on verso. Harpers Ferry, WV, October 1860

  • Notes: A view drawn a year after John Brown's historic raid. The pencil work is a bit faint, but the armory buildings can be seen in the background. The artist was apparently the George H. Andrews who was sent on a tour of America by the Illustrated London News in 1860.
