WHITE, CLARENCE
Croton Dam, Croton-on-Harmon, New York. Platinum print, 3 1/4x4 1/2 inches (8.3x11.5 cm.), mounted. Circa 1925 On April 18, 1925 Clarence White accompanied a class of photography students to the Croton Dam just north of New York City. The outing proved to be productive for White who produced a portfolio of small platinum prints from negatives taken that day. The group ranged from his traditional, pictorial style to a more modern, abstract sensibility. These would be the last photographs White would create. He passed away in Mexico City on July 7, 1925.
