    Other notes:
The Jewish section of the American Communist Party launched the Morgen Freiheit (Morning Freedom) in 1922, entering a vibrant landscape of Yiddish journalism that included eleven daily Yiddish newspapers published in the United States. The paper spanned a wide spectrum of political viewpoints from traditionalist to fiercely radical. William Gropper joined the paper's staff in 1925, bringing with him a sharp, satirical eye. His cartoons offered incisive commentary on everything from local politics and labor struggles to national and international events, quickly becoming a defining feature of the publication's political voice.
