WILLIAM H. BRADLEY BRADLEY HIS BOOK / JULY "WOMAN'S NUMBER." 1896.

18 1/2x9 1/4 inches.
Condition A-: unobtrusive water stains in bottom margin; stickers on verso. Paper.
The appeal of Bradley's work was international as can be seen in the fact that four of his posters were reproduced in Les Maitres de l'Affiche and eleven were included in Les Affiches Etrangeres Illustrees. This poster was known as "In Green and Gold" and was based on the cover of book. It was the third time Bradley used a peacock in one of his major works, which is not surprising, given that "Art Nouveau artists had an almost fetishistic relationship [with the bird]." (Swann #1975 lot 79). Kiehl 32, DFP I 172, Reims 1133, Koch p. 78, Margolin p. 117.
