Small folio, four parts in one volume, incomplete, lacking a total of 19 leaves over 3 books: 10 leaves at the beginning of the first part, including the general title page; second part: divisional title present, lacking 7 text leaves; third part: divisional title present, lacking one text leaf and final ?blank; illustrated with botanical text woodcuts throughout; E2 and U4 torn with loss of a quarter of the page in the second book; Ggg3 in the third book with top half of the page torn away; bound in full 18th century diced russia, dry and cracked; rebacked; 11 1/8 x 7 in.

Turner was a clergyman but is best remembered as the father of English botany, compiling here the physical descriptions and medical applications, or "vertues" of hundreds of plants from across the globe.
