Typed Note Signed, with a small piece from her 1932 plane mounted to the same sheet, "This is a piece of the fabric from the Lockheed Vega Monoplane N R 7952, in which I crossed the Atlantic May 20-21, 1932. Amelia Earhart." Approximately 1 1/2x2 inch piece of red fabric mounted above the typed note. 1 page, 5x3 3/4 inch sheet; signed in pencil, the paper a bit yellowed, minor paper loss at corners, some wear to the fabric. Np, circa 1932
- Notes: With a letter of provenance, indicating that this item was given to Paul Garber (famed aviation collector and founder of the National Air and Space Museum) and obtained from the Garber estate in 1998. Earhart's 1932 plane was sold to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia in 1933; it was transferred to the Smithsonian in 1966.
