  • Notes: A very scarce pro-American response to the passage of the Townshend duties, written by the long-time agent of the Massachusetts Council in London. The frontispiece, engraved by Bartolozzi, represents a British Lady Liberty, with an olive branch in hand. The last copy complete with the plate that we could locate at auction sold in a 1927 Heartman sale for $24. Adams, American Controversy 68-2; Howes B576; Sabin 6210.
