(WWII--PHOTOJOURNALISM)
Portrait of photographer Horace Bristol with his camera in the Pacific Theater. May 1945.
Silver press print, the image measuring 9 3/8x7 5/8 inches (23.8x19.4 cm.), the sheet slightly larger, with an extensive typed caption including the "Official U.S. Navy Photograph" information and their stamp and a date stamp on verso.

  • Condition: This press photograph of the photographer Horace Bristol with his camera in the Pacific Theater, May 1945 is in nearly excellent condition. The print is rich and bright, and the surface clean and lustrous.

The print is ferrotyped, and evidences some of the very faint surface inconsistencies associated with that process. Under strongly-lit viewing conditions, it may be possible to notice a few exceedingly faint impressions in the left background behind the photographer. These remain extremely discreet and not apparent at all under typical viewing condition.

The narrow margins and the verso are clean, with an extensive typed caption including the "Official U.S. Navy Photograph" information and their stamp and a date stamp on verso.
