WYETH, ANDREW. Small archive of 5 items, each Signed, in full or "Andy Wyeth" or "Andy," to Elizabeth B. Greenman: Three Autograph Letters * Two greeting cards. The letters, accepting her offer to repair his vandalized military uniforms, inviting her to visit and discuss the work, thanking her for a drawing and arranging to meet. Together 4 pages, 4to, "The Mill" stationery, written on rectos only. Each with the original envelope. The cards, additionally inscribed: "Merry Christmas / from / Betsy & Andy / Wyeth," in red ink, or "Greetings / Betsy & / Andy," showing a reproduction of his Rural Holiday (1968) or an uncredited abstract. Each 5x7 inches, folded sheet. 3 December 1965; 14 December 1967 [from postmark]. Chadds Ford, 1964-65

    On October 31, 1964, Halloween vandals broke into Wyeth's house at Chadds Ford while he was away, smashed windows, slashed draperies, and destroyed articles of clothing used as models in artworks by his father N.C. Wyeth and others, including an 18th-century military uniform.
