Cornerstones of science fiction from the Estate of Stanley Simon form the backbone of our May 15 auction of 19th & 20th Century Literature; of special note is a run of first editions by Philip K. Dick. Additional highlights include first editions of the first works by marquee artists of the twentieth century, including Joseph Heller, Ernest Hemingway and Stephen King.

Nineteenth-century highlights include first editions of Emily Dickinson‘s first three books of poetry, and the first edition in fragile wrappers of Christabel: Kubla Khan, A Vision; The Pains of Sleep, 1816, by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

Works from the Estate of Stanley Simon

Stanley Simon (1945-2017) of Flushing, Queens, was a passionate, dedicated, life-long collector of sci-fi, thriller and fantasy first editions as well as photography from the Golden Age of Hollywood. He worked at the Post Office for 30 years but always was intensely focused on his collections. Lots in this auction from the Estate of Stanley Simon are marked ESS.
