Henri Cassiers

1858-1944

Belgian artist Henri Cassiers was born in Antwerp in 1858, and became both an accomplished draughtsman and aquarellist. His illustrations were featured in some of the most prominent hotels, restaurants, and newspapers of his time. Cassiers developed his craft while studying architecture in Brussels and taking courses at various schools, including the Fine Arts Academy. Painter Henri Cassiers’ applied art was often featured in widely distributed magazines, postcards, menus, and educational wall plates. 

Some of artist Henri Cassiers’ most notable works include his illustrations in Le Patriote Illustré, and his posters for the bathing resort De Haan.
