Jessica Hunter joined Swann Galleries as cataloguer for the Photographs & Photobooks department in 2019, and currently serves as the department’s Specialist. As a Specialist, she contributes to the cataloguing, research and editing for the photographs sales, works closely with clients on both consigning and buying works, and assess new consignments for the department.
Before joining Swann, Jessica worked as an independent fine art photography appraiser and consulted for a photography appraisal company. She previously acted as registrar, appraiser, and assistant director at a Chelsea photography gallery. Jessica is an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America and serves on the organization’s membership committee.
Jessica graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a B.A. in Art History and English. She received a master's in Art History from the University of Arizona, and in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, where her theses analyzed John Gutmann’s circus photography and the British photography market, respectively. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys playing bocce, walking New York City, and is an avid reader of mystery novels.
