Group of 14 picturesque prints, comprising 12 scenes of Peking attributed to Child, including a
street view, the Imperial City, a CityWall, the Observatory (with instruments on the terrace),Tsung
Li Yamen (Foreign Office), a view from the front gate, as well as views of the Great Wall, ancient
ruins, the Principal Palace Yeunming Yuen, and Tien-Ning-Szu Pagoda, as well as two delicately
hand-colored views, one depicting rice irrigation (with a printed caption) and the second of laborers
handling rickshaws, both are attributed to Beato. Albumen prints, each approximately 8x10 inches
(20.3x25.4 cm.), 6 with Child’s caption and credit in the negative or on the accompanying caption
