(SPORTS—BOXING.) ALI,
MUHAMMAD.
Muhammad Ali vs Joe
Frazier, Heavyweight Championship
of the World.
Felt banner, 12 x 29
inches, tapering to a fine tip.
Np (1971)
[500/750]
The so-called “Fight of the century” took place
at New York’s Madison Square Garden on
March 8th 1971. The fight might have disap-
pointed given the expectations and the fact that
it had been hyped up to the “max” as they
say. The fight itself exceeded even its promo-
tional hype and went the full 15-round
championship distance. Ali dominated the first
three rounds, but in the end, Frazier dealt Ali
his first professional loss.
