PUCCINI, GIACOMO. Autograph Letter Signed, “Giacomo,” to Rose Ader
[from envelope] (lacking salutation), in Italian, hoping for a letter from her tomorrow, stat-
ing that he had almost finished the first act of
Turandot
, stating that his thoughts are always
with her while he works, adding that she seems to be near him sometimes, imagines her as
he saw her the first time in Rome on April 3, looking forward to meeting again and sug-
gesting September, noting that he must stifle his feelings in his work to lessen the sorrow of
their separation, explaining that if she were to come to Viareggio they could meet only
rarely and it would be difficult, urging her to have patience, and expressing his longing and
love. 2 pages, small 4to, written on the recto and verso of a single sheet; folds. With the
original envelope.
