and skin products, as well as her enormous college in St. Louis. Madame C. J. Walker worked for Ms.

Malone as a salesperson.

A RARE SURVIVAL

Inexplicably, material from the Poro College seems to be especially scarce to outright rare. Poro was as

popular if not more so than Walker Company products for several years until Madame Walker’s supe-

rior advertising skills overtook it.
