Condition A-: minor creases and abrasions in margins and images.

Herbinier was called upon to design the poster for one of the last exhibitions of the Salon des Cent.

A student of Grasset, Herbinier was best known for his decorative portfolios and illustrations replete

with pure Art Nouveau floral imagery, maidens and design. Here, “inspired by the theme of the

woman-flower, Herbinier draws a poster where the vegetal world transforms the feminine figure into

a sort of floral outgrowth. The hawthorn wraps itself around her body and blends with the volutes of

her hair” (Salon des Cent p. 42). Art Nouveau p. 26, Salon des Cent 12.
