This souvenir pamphlet was printed to commemorate the occasion of the presentation of a por-

trait painted by James H. Beard of General William T. Sherman to the Ohio Society of New

York by that society’s president, ColonelWilliam L. Strong, at the Society Club House in New

York on February 13, 1893.
