series of advertisements by White with his

accompanying photographs that ran in The

New Yorker. An in-house production of an

unknown limitation, very likely a small print

run reserved for agents and preferred customers.

“These Sterling Finney advertisements were

written by me.They ran in the magazine in the

early years when it was trying to promote its

circulation. I posed the dummies—figures I

found in Wanamaker’s department store”

(White, quoted in Hall). Rare, with no copies

appearing at auction in over three decades.Hall A1.
