This stock image originated in the pages of

La Plume

in 1897 when it was used as the border for the

title page of a special edition of the magazine dedicated to Mucha. From 1904 through 1923 the

borders were printed in Cannes and used to promote various events in Monte Carlo. Rennert / Weill
