T. Forman & Sons, Nottingham. Condition A / A-: unobtrusive vertical and horizontal folds. The paddle steamer Marguerite , launched in 1894, was operated by the Palace Steamers Limited, making the run between England and Ostend. In 1904, she was transferred to the Liverpool and North Wales Line. She is shown here on her run from Liverpool and Llandudno; in the distance, another paddle steamer is making the return trip. Marguerite was taken out of service and scrapped in 1925. [2,000/3,000] C.T. HOWARD (DATES UNKNOWN) 3 c WEST INDIES CRUISE BY P&O. 1932. 60x39 3 / 4 inches, 152 1 / 2 x101 cm. The Lamson Agency, Ltd., London. Condition A- / B+: repaired tears, creases and restoration in margins; creases along unobtrusive horizontal folds. Howard was an illustrator and painter whose work seemed to mostly find its way onto postcards, primarily as landscapes, military scenes and railways, among many other subjects. This joyful, verdant island scene may well be his only poster, but the image was also used on a brochure in 1932, advertising a 38-day cruise on the Viceroy of India . [2,000/3,000]
