The Grand Canyon National Park was established through an act of Congress, and signed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. Considered one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World, the canyon stretches over 275 miles and was formed over the millennia by the Colorado River coursing over the rocks of the Plateau. Its awe-inspiring views, rock formations, colors and strata have amazed visitors since the 1870s.
