The International Exhibition of Modern Art, also known as the Armory show, marked the introduction of Modernism to the United States. It featured works by Duchamp, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Cézanne, and many others, which altered the American aesthetic consciousness on a scale comparable to the European Renaissance. These four catalogues memorialize this monumental transition and document the artists and works chosen by the Association of American Painters and Sculptors for the first New York and subsequent Chicago and Boston exhibitions.
