Canadian-born Austin Cooper was both a prolific artist (working extensively for the London Underground and Britain's different railway companies) and a stylistic virtuoso. His posters reflect many different design concepts, from the cartoonish to the literal. His work for the LNER also reflected a brightly-colored realism as seen here in this peaceful, Scottish scene.
