  • Notes: The Siege of Ladysmith was a terrible loss for the British during their second war against the Boers over South Africa. The troops were surrounded and isolated in the town by a larger group of Boer soldiers. There were many casualities, starvation, loss of communications, and a lack of supplies that made the Brits suffer terribly. They lost the battle in the end but managed to win the war.
