- Notes: As part of the Assiento with Spain following the Treaty of Utrecht, the British had the exclusive right to provide the Spanish colonies in the Americas with 4800 slaves per year. According to the present act, the South Sea Company, which was facing financial collapse, was granted the right to take slaves from the island of Madagascar to Buenos Aires.
