LAMAILLE, ADOLPHE. A quarter-plate daguerreotype of a cemetery showing Levy's grave; in a passe-partout and papier-mache frame. late 1840s A crisp image; the inscription on the stones is clearly legible with a magnifying glass. A modern caption label adhered to the back of the frame provides descriptive information about the image and its maker. Adolphe Lamaille was a professor of daguerreotypy in Paris.
