Oversized folio consisting of a typographically printed title page and twenty-five full page engravings after Charles-Antoine Coypel's (1694-1752) paintings, engraved by Louis Surugue, Charles-Nicolas Cochin, Ravenet, Lepicier, François Joullain, Hausard, Silvestre, Louise-Magdeleine Horthemels, Beauvais, Poilly and Nicolas Tardieu; some plates dated 1723 and 1724; imprint date assigned circa 1747, the year that Coypel was named "premier pentre du Roi"; tiny stamps on the title and on the verso of each plate, larger old armorial stamp to title; some closed tears to blank margins; one repaired with browning adhesive; bound in full contemporary sponge-decorated calf with gilt-tooled spine and marbled endleaves, unsophisticated; 22 x 16 in.
