Letter to friend Nelson Woodward of Evans, NY. Nice description of Fortress Monroe, where the regiment stopped briefly en route further south. Fortress Monroe, VA, 19 November 1862 * C.J.J. Martyn, recently paroled prisoner, possibly of New York. Letter to wife on attractive Magnus letter sheet. Describes difficulty in getting his rightful furlough. Annapolis, MD, 12 December 1864 * William S. Milmine, private in the 32nd New York Infantry. Letter to brother Alfred in Schenectady, NY. A good 7-page letter, discusses the Rebels shelling their transports, worries about an impending attack. Harrison's Landing, VA, 7 August [1862] * James L. Thompson. 2 letters to family in Nunda, NY while training, with patriotic covers. Camp Union, 7 January and 20 February 1862 * J.P. Willcox. Letter to parents in Vernon, Oneida County, NY. En route to the front; "We don't any of us know where we are going." Steamer Parkersburg off Fortress Monroe, VA, 26 October 1861 * "Hearl," soldier in 9th New York Cavalry. Letter to brother. Camp Fenton, Washington, DC, 4 December 1861.
